The ‘Convent' restaurant is situated in one of the most traditional neighborhoods of Barcelona next to ‘Rambla de Las Flores' . Located near the Boqueria Market, with an abundance of fresh produce at hand, it is a perfect restaurant to enjoy traditional Catalan food .
It's history dates back to the year of 1713 when the ‘Convent of St. Maria from Jerusalem' was built. With the years passing and due to it's aged history it became the first police headquarter in Barcelona and also the artillery regiment of the city.
Towards the year 1836, having obeyed the orders from the policemen, the city council decided to build a closed square that resulted to be the perfect location for the ‘Mercado de la Boquería' .
